Planisphere
The Planisphere utilizes quartz crystals that are lit from underneath as stars. It is made from part of a Redwood stump. Obsidian is inlaid on the top ring. By aligning the time and date one can see what the night sky looks like at 40 degrees latitude at any moment throughout the year.

After spending three years at the outside gallery with the Chasterus Foundation in the desert the Planisphere went through restoration. What was once a horizontal facing sculpture became a wall piece with a fresh finish and removal of the top clock ring.
