Custom DJ Booth
for The Chamber's Project
The DJ booth is a permanent installation at the Chamber's Project Gallery. Located at 627 E. Main St., Grass Valley, CA 95945. Built by Shapeshifter Studios in collaboration with lead designer Benjamin Gunnerson and Noble Metal Fabrication.
Celeah's personal touch to the build is the dancing agate bears.
Build Details
The DJ Booth utilizes sound proofing tiles to enhance the audio quality at the gallery. Crafted with bamboo and redwood. Copper is inlaid in the the redwood imperfections. A lip on the upper deck allows DJs a place for laptops. There is ample storage space below and thoughtfully placed holes for cables.
In addition to general build construction, Celeah, inspired by The Grateful Dead, hand crafted agate dancing bears. They are surrounded by crushed howlite and selenite, then inlaid in bamboo and incased in epoxy. She took special care to allow light to continue to shine through the agates.
The metal frame was built by Noble Metal Fabrication. It was then given to Shapeshifter Studios, a studio curated by Mr. G and Celeah Norris from 2019 to 2022. They produced the DJ booth in three days with the help of builder, Yesse Jesse and laser art by 5th Density Soul. Laser etched design by Mars 1.
